Do You Know?
March 23, 2008 Macroeconomics
  1. What the country with the highest GDP growth rate in 2007 was? See here. I know nothing about the place. Is it oil? Wheat? Copper? Poppies? It’s really gotta be lots of commodities … or is it something else?
  2. Who has higher GDP, Europe or America?
  3. Of 216 countries for which data are reported, where does the U.S. rank in terms of 2007 GDP growth rate? This does not worry me.
  4. Here’s an SAT type question. Which of these “countries” does not belong? Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Zimbabwe Fiji, Chad, Azerbaijan and Puerto Rico? Sadly, it’s not Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico had nearly the worst economic performance in the world in 2007. This really surprised me given its close relationship with #179. Anyone know what is going on there?
