… then why do we tax them at 35% corporate income tax rates, and then force them to pay at least 7.65% in payroll taxes for the right to hire their workforces?

Here’s my favorite bit from this monstrosity:

it would add more than $130 billion to the budget deficit over the next year and a half.

OK, so that’s about $87 billion more per year in budget deficits. That’s about 20% of the total size of the evil budget deficits Bush ran in his final year in office. Yet now that is just a tack on. This year’s deficit estimate now clocks in at $1.6 trillion. To put this in perspective, our budget deficit is now the 10th largest economy in the world. I repeat, there are only 9 other countries whose entire economies are as large as our deficit is. Our deficit is as big as the country of Brazil.

And how’s this for a preview of the budget neutrality we are being promised from the health care reform:

The sweeping bill … would also prevent doctors from absorbing a 21 percent cut in Medicare payments and extends through December a generous 65 percent subsidy of health insurance premiums for the unemployed under the COBRA program, at a cost of $10 billion.

The Commander in Speech is trying to convince us that a huge portion of spending for his new health care overall will come from savings on payments to doctors in Medicare? And people believe this?

Let the spending orgy continue! Is there any end in sight?

Hey, who is this bastard FICA and why does he keep taking my money!? I have no idea how someone could even pretend that the costs for the whole reform and the savings on payments to doctors in Medicare could even be comparable, much less close to equivalent…
