Sorry folks but devices that are discovered to overcome our problems do not themselves become necessities. Preserving food is a necessity, a fridge isn’t.

    One year we had a ham hanging in the cellar with mold growing it. It was a great target for darts, but I think we eventually ate it, and we survived.

    Everybody reading this has his or her life improved with refrigeration. Wegeman’s of Rochester, a company not managed by government, provides not just salt-cured bacon and root vegetables in the winter, but every imaginable delicacy every day of the year, even in Allentown.
