John Hinderaker shares a story:

Today was the first in what promises to be a series of meetings involving the EPA, community leaders, local officials and representatives of the refineries. It tended to confirm the concerns I expressed about the illegitimacy of the environmental justice agenda. What do you think would happen if taxpayers were allowed to directly allocate their taxes? For example…at anytime throughout the year you could submit a payment directly to the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA would then send notice of your payment to the IRS.

Hey Xerographica, what a thought! Wintercow what do you think? This even goes beyond the great idea of abolishing tax witholding and writing a single check to teh feds, let’s make it so that the IRS has to compute what proportion of our tax dollar goes to each agency, and we have to make separate payments to each accordingly … hmmmm that would get people’s attention.
