Oops, scratch that.

UPDATE: How it did die. If there was ever a 2 minute statement that encapsulated most of what I understand to be true about the world, and to be morally right about the world, this is it.

For those interested, I recommend a book I’ve reviewed in bits and pieces, David Beito’s From Mutual Aid to the Welfare State. There are some quibbles I have with it, but the history is worth being exposed to.

    I know this is a dark comment on the chart, but Mexico is at the bottom of the list. Maybe the Aztec and Mayan survivors have some genetic aversion to doing heart operations a la Apocalypto, doing their fair share to appease the Sun god and the high priests.
