Pot Meet Kettle

In response to why it was important for the Senate to vote the way they did on the contraceptive amendment today:

We have never had a conscience clause for insurance companies,” said Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif. The measure would have given insurers more opportunites to deny coverage for certain treatments, she added. “A lot of them don’t have any consciences. They’ll take it,” Boxer said.

She represents “the American people.” Not me. I have a new proposition. I can understand why politicians with consciences want to make sure insurance companies provide funding for contraception services. How would Ms. Boxer feel if insurance companies went even further than this and took measures to prevent anyone it covers from having any sex at all? I would support the current amendment if we pushed through its implications to its logical conclusions. Or better yet – let’s make sure that the government and insurance companies approves who can and cannot enter into any romantic relationship. What say you?

I already have a post planned on this very topic for tomorrow. The lies being told on this story by some are so over the top and infuriating, they deserve a response.

Finally, a Senator speaks courageously about the bravery of Hector in the Trojan War.

Don’t be so sure Senator Boxer, concerned about drug affordability, would not want to ration access to any drug, if it gave her the power to regulate behavior.

Her comments about insurance executives’ ethics were inspiring. What would we do if we did not have Barbara Boxer looking out for us?
