The USA Today reports on its findings regarding the “sustainability” of LEED buildings. A triumph indeed. The saddest part:

More than 200 states, cities and federal agencies now require LEED certification for new public buildings, even though they have done little independent and meaningful research into LEED’s effectiveness. LEED can add millions to construction costs while promising to cut utility bills and other expenses.

Thank you for your opinion. Read the rest, which actually goes over some actual evidence. You know what it says.

    All that LEED stuff has to be installed at prevailing wage.

    But it does not matter if stimulus money is spent wisely, as long as it boosts aggregate demand; every dollar spent boosts the aggregate economy by a factor of 1.85, or something like that.
