President Obama is becoming like global warming. He’s everywhere. All the time. I was just settling down to read the “Power Issue” of Sports Illustrated when I came upon their ranking of the top 50 most powerful people in sports. Roger Gooddell, commissioner of the NFL, is not surprisingly, #1. And whaddaya know? The Good Ol’ President of the U. S. of A. finds himself proudly ensconced at #44. So, not only is the Commander in Speech the most powerful allocater of capital in the world, the commander of the most powerful Army in the world, the drone striker, class warrior, green energy hedge fund manager, and more … he is also one of the most powerful people in sports.

That is a good question, WC. Would one not have to declare as income at least the fair value of a trip in a G6, plus a weekend beach house rental, plus greens fees/private playing lesson with a PGA pro, meals with adult beverages, tips for the shoe shine, etc.?
I thought Tom DeLay got jail time for golf junkets in Scotland, where a good day on the course is when it is not raining hard.
