I see these things all over the place. It’s language only an “E”nvironmentalist could love:

Taken right from the wet sponge playbook.

  1. Thanks you!!! That’s been one of my pet-peeves for a while. But when I mention it I usually get a blank look. How can it be both something, and nothing?

Related … window stickers that say “Next Generation Airbags.”

  2. I had always wondered what in the world this actually meant whenever I saw it on the back of my Subaru. Always seemed like quite the oxymoron. I finally looked it up. According to Wikipedia:

“This vehicle category was created as part of a bargain with the California Air Resources Board (CARB), so that the automobile manufacturers could postpone producing mandated zero emission vehicles (ZEVs), which will require the production of electric vehicles or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

The vehicles constructed to meet the PZEV requirements must achieve both SULEV (Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle) exhaust emissions and zero evaporative (fuel system) emissions. The SULEV standard is designed to be even more rigorous than the Ultra standard or low-emission vehicle standard.”
