You know how much attention is paid to the practices of credit card companies and mortgage companies and the like? It would be nice if similar scrutiny were universally applied. We get at least three bills that are just like this one.
When you look at it quickly what price do you think you owe? I’m sure this is done to get people to pay on time and I’m sure these places would credit customer accounts if indeed they paid more than is required, but this nonetheless bugs me.
While we’re at it, wouldn’t if be nice if the same standards of transparency that “we” applied to private businesses ended up being applied to nonprofits and governments alike? Much more on that soon.
It’s like a protection/loan shark racket. Pay us and we’ll not cut off your water.
