If jobs are such a benefit to each of us, then why are we not paying our employers for the privilege of working? Indeed, if jobs are such a benefit, shouldn’t proponents of the minimum wage be horrified at what their position is saying?

Well, this is the whole idea of interns, investing their time and their parents’ money to work in New York for John Whiteshoe, making copies, or for Senator Cowflop in Washington, making copies of interrogatories to Whiteshoe &Co.
So far, It’s a free country, and that means that people are free to choose to pay for the privilege to work. Just don’t get a SNAP card and free anything else, and learn something useful on your journey.
Proponents of the minimum wage should be embarrassed, not horrified. But you make your point, WC.
When my consulting company ever did any work, we never worked for free. We may have given much more effort than was contracted,,but we never, ever gave anything away of value for free, including our analyses of our client ‘s operations, part of our sales process. We were not giving out gold bricks, but delivered a three to one return, dollar for dollar annually, nearly every time. This was not just me, but a great company that enabled me and others to do the impossible every week.
