Sunday Morning Ponderance
November 3, 2013 Central Planning

Dear Localists,

I’ve been told time and time again that “trade in trash” is wasteful and immoral. OK, you convinced me, I agree. I look forward to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite, practicing this local-ism strategy and not trading their trash. Having a mountain of garbage on site will make some of that hiking even more spectacular.

What’s that I hear? You object? You think visitors of the park should pack out what they pack in?

And when they pack it out, they should take it home with them?

And dispose it?

Ummm … isn’t that, too, trading in trash?

Have a nice Sunday.
