… to a Senator that happened to be sitting two rows from you on your flight from DC to NY, what would it be? I was going to hand him a copy of the book I am in the middle of, but I would have interrupted his reading of important memos and briefs. Actually, he ended up flipping through the NY Times the entire flight – I guess “saving” the economy and fixing health care could wait. That was comforting – until I remember sitting at dinner the night before and listening to two pre-25 year old Senatorial staffers bragging about marking up such important health care legislation.

You mean Nancy did not drop him off at Teterboro?
And watch out about Senators reading briefs.
The day will come soon when pre-25-year-old staffers will be marking up legislation and will twitter about what they are doing. Probably has, but NSA can’t listen.

Have to read that book! Wished I were there, too, and asked him what his vision is. I’d be quick to say I already know the answer, but it perplexes me about how he sees how the world works, especially since we’ve learned so much since he went to law school. (I’m not talking about Thomas Sowell, but rather the senator.)

You’re reading Sowell? Small world, I’m reading “The Quest For Cosmic Justice” for the second time now, and loving it. Sowell is a brilliant and wonderful man. I think we’re very lucky to have him.

On your question, I would ask the Senator if he/she is at all familiar w/ Article 1 Section 8 of the U.S. Const. as well as the 10th Amendment.
