From the preface: "While this report does not aim to present the forum participants as flame throwers, for this work to accomplish a primary goal, the reader will need to feel something in reading it. …"

"If we continue the adolescent-like disregard for the dangers we are being warned of, driving green house gasses up with only casual concern, there will be consequences. As our world begins to unravel and our role is undeniable, all eyes will be on us. Questions beg to be asked:

• What will the rest of the world think of us?

• Where will we be safe?

• How will we feel about ourselves?

The interplay between the climate realities we likely face and the potential psychological fallout from them was the subject of a conference convened in Washington D.C., in March 2009

Not that any of these morons ever pay any attention to the actual facts of a case, but it has apparently escaped their notice that US CO2 emissions are going down (mostly due to fracking), and Chinese are not only going up but are larger than ours on an absolute scale.  So if the people really do get their knickers in a twist over climate angst, the result is likely to be not a run on headshrinkers but a nuclear war.

I'm not a psycologist, but is spending time wondering what the rest of the world will think about us or where we will be safe a psycological question?  It sounds almost like paranoia.  Maybe the ones who wrote the report are the ones in need of a psycologist.

Whenever it gets uncomfortably hot/humid, I feel a real loss of self-esteem. After a couple of ice cold Rolling Rocks I feel fine.

Every time I see the vulgar misuse of “begging the question,” I gag, and disregard the rest of whatever clever, deep remarks the writer or speaker has to say.

I think I heard these intellectually self-satisfied people in the car on NPR several times, once while driving from Washington, DC, listening to a Bob Edwards interview on WAGU, with an expert journalist, and at least three times listening to Marty Moss-Cohane intervewing “scientists” on WHYY. They visited from a different planet.

As long as we have Rizzo, we are not doomed, and they are doomed.

BTY, Mike, I went to WordPress and posted a comment on the page of one of their top developer’s page, telling him how he has cut out millions of iPhone3 users from being able to communicate not just with wintercow, but with every blogger to every other blogger who owns that device. Could be a few hundred million frustrated occurrences a day. Maybe it is a conspiracy with AT&T, to limit all that data flowing from Pennsylvania to Bangalore to Sydney to Salt Lake City to Rochester.

fckededitor is an apt name for the person who dreamed this up.

While I was at it, I set up a blog, redhillholsteins.com. For all cows of any season. Nothing is there yet. Had to do it to talk to the folks at WordPress. Since they, too, are on a different planet, I do not expect any response, or any fix to a big problem for them.
