When Being Right Does Not Make Me Want to Gloat
First they came for the liquor …

Then they came for the drugs …

Then they came for the cigarettes …

Then they came for the hamburgers …

Now they are after the aluminum bats. Are they kidding me?

Does it matter that many of us warned about the slippery slope? This recent bout is straight out of Orwell and no one gives a damn. Did you know that cheerleading is at least as dangerous as football and baseball, if not more? Let’s ban cheerleading. Driving is dangerous too, motor vehicle accidents account for more deaths than all natural disasters combined – just a tiny bit more dangerous than aluminum bats, no? But what is the biggest risk to life and health? I suppose we can just ban that too?

In a world of no danger, there is no delight, no creativity, no dynamism, no progress.
