The average household in the United States generates one-third less trash each year than does the average household in Mexico.
Yeah, I understand that Mexican households are likely larger, but American GDP per capita is over four times that of the Mexican GDP per capita (roughly $44k to $10.6k). See more here from the fine folks at PERC.
