I get frequent headaches, perhaps because I read the news and blogosphere too much. When I do, I sure do hate the fact that Wyeth is making money on me by having the audacity and avarice to try to sell me one of the few things that can make me feel better – Advil. And it is especially horrible that these two pills cost me roughly a dime. Wouldn’t it be worse if more of our health care delivery were centered on a similar idea?
By the way, for those of you believing that health insurers (I am no friend of them by the way) are making a killing on you, their profit margins are around 3%. Let me ask you this, would you take all of your savings and invest them in a stock that returned 3% per year for you? Would you do it if you also had to deal with the scrutiny that health insurers face as well?
