My wife is in a class where they are learning about divorce and its effects. Their professor reported the data to them that divorce rates for second marriages and third marriages are much higher than for first marriages. He began a litany of explanations for why this is so, and of course not once used an economic one.

Among the favored arguments were this very scientific: “you go through a lot of effort to make a first marriage work, and then you don’t have the energy left to try to save a second or third marriage.” I don’t want to comment on that one for now. But here’s a novel idea … perhaps those folks that are in second and third marriages are systematically different than folks who are only in a first marriage? After all, every single person who enters into a second marriage (speaking of the individual) has already been … divorced!

Keep this sort of thing in mind whenever you hear explanations for various trends and strange occurrences. They might not be all that strange after all.

What about remarriage after death of spouse?

So I guess what is being said here is 50% of American’s are nothing but a bunch of losers. Thank you for sharing your arrogance. May you find someone as perfect as yourself. For that matter you might just be too perfect to have a God too.
