The CEO of a major investment bank argues in favor of creating an “Infrastructure Bank” because, you know, if we don’t have a plan for some “national economic objectives” we’ll all shrivel up and die. And of course, the thugs on Wall Street don’t stand to benefit a single dime from such a plan. The Anti-Planner hilariously calls this bank, “Trannie-Mae.

Here’s a thought for ya … think about another program where national objectives HAD to be met and not local political ones. And think about this same program, which MUST have required smart government investments because of the inevitable coordination problems and positive “externalities” of development the infrastructure … how about the conversion of the entire US economy to an oil-based economy 100 years ago? Think of all those service stations, fuel tanks, fuel receptacles, etc. that could never have gotten rolled out except for the wise planning of government officials. Uhhhh … scratch that.
