Today marks the 11th anniversary of the September 11th tragedy. I share my sympathies with all of the victims and their families and friends.

But take a look at downtown and the site of the former WTC. Sure, there are several buildings going up and a memorial, but here we are 11 years later and “we” cannot manage to get that project completed. No need to point out why. Just keep that in mind when folks tell you that we can power the entire economy with windmills by 2030, or that we can overhaul healthcare in the next decade or …

    One of my college fraternity brothers, Lindsay Herkness, died in the North Tower. He was a capitalist and had a great job and office, on one of the top floors. RIP.

    The WTC is one of the top Broken Windows. To Princeton professors, any delays or overruns in repairing the damage is icing on the cake, making the multiplier work harder. Digging holes and filling them up is their specialty. Readers of Bastiat and Hayek are, well, reactionary, unmodern, and certainly not progressive.
