How come the FDA does not inspect postal mailing envelopes? Licking glue is probably not the safest thing in the world, and gosh just think of the evils that could come from it. Or maybe the FDA does indeed inspect them?
Weekend Thought: Christmas Card Edition

Merry Christmas to you and the herd Wintercow! May the milk inspector keep you safe on this blessed day.
I use the non-lick kind myself. You can also print your own by buying them on the Internet. Maybe the university has a Pitney-Bowes machine, too. If you run for Congress and win (O happy thought!), you can just frank the postage, which is as close to doing what the Federal Reserve does as you can get. Free!! Butterflies are free!
Still, there is the hazard of lick-’em-yourself stamps. I hear they are used in the ghetto to suppress voting. There might even be some saltpeter in the glue, so they can be used in boarding schools. The aliens told me this last night. No, not people from a foreign country — aliens.
