Did you know that the NET price of attending a public community college is lower today than it was in 1991? Well, it is (see Figure 9). You are probably better off sending your kids to the local community college for two years to get their core courses out of the way, and then send them off to be indoctrinated to the tune of $60k per year for only two years.

    That’s a gem, Wintercow. It almost makes me want to become a guidance counselor. I suspect the education blob would not appreciate my counsel though.

    Here’s a great deal for parents: send your kid to community college to learn what the government-run schools should have taught them by grade ten for $20,000, and then send them to a full-service college for $100,000, which includes party expenses, party time abroad, etc.

    My cynical comment is not meant to diminish free people looking for value, because it is there if one looks for it. Happily, my daughter graduated from a great place, and I am no longer a customer.
