Healthy Stimulus

The now signed into law ObamaCare bill gives the IRS an additional $10 billion of your money and the mandate to hire 16,000 more agents to enforce the new taxes and fees in the new law. Have a nice day.

That’s peculiar. I thought Obama was quite adamant in telling George Stephanopoulos that ObamaCare did not amount to a tax … if so, then why is the IRS tasked with enforcing it?

    Speedmaster…good question!

Another question: is the cost of the extra IRS agents included in the CBO’s scoring of the bill?

Guys in suits, wearing dark sunglasses, after speedmaster, wanting to look at the hard drive stored inadverntly in the attic.
Is this a great country, or what?

I’m no expert on the new law, but I believe while much of the its spending is in the form of an “entitlement” (non-discretionary which is distributed without annual appropriation (Congressional authrorization)), there is $100 billion or so that will be required to implement the plan, that is, hire these IRS and other bureaucrats. But that is discretionary spending, which must be approved every year. The point is, maybe there is hope. If this turkey can’t be repealed maybe it can at least be “de-fanged” by not funding it if we get change in November.
