December 31, 2013 Flotsam and Jetsam

Happy New Year to all of you. I hope to raise the quality of our offerings here in the next year. May you and your families flourish this year and beyond.

  1. Happy New Year, and many thanks for your efforts at producing this excellent blog, I very much enjoy every post.

  2. Happy new year to WC and the rest of the herd, warm inside the upstate barn.

If the cows stay in the barn, it is tough to catch heats, and it is the observant dairy farmer who gets his cows pregnant, not by himself, but with his bull(s) or today the artificial inseminator.

If the breeder, that is, not the bull but rather the farmer is successful, he will be able to take advantage of higher prices dictated by the USDA’s Federal Milk Marketing Orders, Franklin D. Rooseveldt’s gift to the agrarian class.

Thanks for running a great blog, WC, and do not feel obliged to do it daily; just do not shut it down, unless, of course, you have left this world, which Keynes said happens to us all in the long run.
